Telangana CM Announces Formation of Yadagirigutta Temple Board, Mirroring TTD's Model

Hyderabad, [Date] — In a significant move aimed at bolstering the development and management of the Yadagirigutta Temple, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced plans to form a “Yadagirigutta Temple Board” on the lines of the revered Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board, which oversees the world-famous Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala. The decision was made after a detailed review of the ongoing developmental works at the Yadagirigutta Temple, which is a prominent pilgrimage destination dedicated to Lord Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy.

The Chief Minister convened a high-level meeting on Friday, attended by senior officials, temple authorities, and other stakeholders, where he discussed the steps required to ensure the temple’s transformation into a major religious and cultural hub.

Yadagirigutta Temple Board: Aiming for TTD-like Efficiency
A. Revanth Reddy emphasized the need for the proposed Yadagirigutta Temple Board to be modeled after the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Trust Board. He instructed the authorities to conduct a thorough study of the TTD’s functioning and management framework before finalizing the setup. The new temple board is expected to streamline administration, oversee temple rituals and festivals, and ensure the overall development and maintenance of the temple complex, akin to the TTD’s role in managing the Tirumala temple.

“The Yadagirigutta Temple Board should have a similar stature to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Trust. This will ensure effective management and provide the necessary impetus for the growth and development of this important religious site,” A. Revanth Reddy said.

Special Policies for Cow Protection and Goshala Development
In his review meeting, the Chief Minister also stressed the importance of preserving religious and cultural practices, including the protection of cows at the temple’s Goshala (cow shelter). He instructed the officials to develop and implement a special policy to ensure the welfare and care of the cows within the Goshala, which is an integral part of the temple's daily rituals and offerings.

The Goshala is expected to play a key role in providing cow-based products like milk, ghee, and dung, which are used in religious ceremonies and rituals at the temple. The new policy will focus on ensuring the long-term sustainability and ethical treatment of the cows housed in the shelter.

Gold Plating of Vimana Gopuram to be Completed Before Brahmotsavam
A. Revanth Reddy also gave directions for the completion of the gold plating work for the Vimana Gopuram (the main tower of the temple) before the upcoming Brahmotsavam, an annual religious festival held in honor of Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy. The ongoing gold plating project, which is aimed at enhancing the temple's aesthetic and spiritual significance, is set to be a key highlight of the temple’s renovation.

“The gold plating of the Vimana Gopuram should be completed in time for the Brahmotsavam festival. This is a priority, and the concerned authorities should expedite the process,” A. Revanth Reddy emphasized.

Land Acquisition and Funding for Temple Development
Addressing concerns regarding land acquisition for the temple's expansion, the Chief Minister urged the officials to complete all pending land acquisition formalities at the earliest. He also assured the release of the required funds for the smooth progress of the project.

Officials were directed to prepare a detailed report on all pending works related to the temple’s development, including infrastructure projects such as roads, parking facilities, and accommodation for the influx of pilgrims. The report is expected to be submitted to the Chief Minister within a week.

Name Change: Yadadri to Be Renamed Yadagirigutta
In another important directive, CM A. Revanth Reddy ordered the rechristening of the temple town of Yadadri to its historical and traditional name—Yadagirigutta. The name change is intended to reflect the town's deep historical and cultural significance, and the new name will be adopted in all official records and daily usage across the state.

“The town of Yadadri, known in ancient texts as Yadagirigutta, will henceforth be officially recognized by its original name. This change should be reflected in all government documents and communications,” A. Revanth Reddy said.

A New Era for Yadagirigutta
The establishment of the Yadagirigutta Temple Board, alongside the expansion and modernization efforts, is expected to significantly elevate the temple’s stature and enhance the experience for devotees. As part of a broader initiative to boost religious tourism and infrastructure development in Telangana, the project is poised to attract more pilgrims and tourists from across India and beyond.

With the Chief Minister's firm commitment and the focused efforts of the temple authorities, the Yadagirigutta Temple is set to emerge as one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in the country, drawing millions of devotees each year.
